Magazine front page analysis 2

This 'Rock Sound' magazine was released in September 2010 and features Paramore as the main focal point. It focuses on Paramore's future and what new music they are planning as well as details on up-coming gigs and previews of songs from other artists such as Lostprophets, Biffy Clyro and Against Me!.

The front page is designed to express this. Paramore span the entire width of the page, with Hayley Williams (the lead singer) in the foreground in an assertive pose. She is the main focus of the image with the rest of the band standing behind her, her finger is pressed up to her lip to make a dominant and assertive pose to draw the reader's attention.

The Rock Sound Logo sits just below this. It is in a deep green and all-caps, it is partially covered by the band to emphasize the photo, but its size and colour mean it is still clear, stylish and eye-catching.

There are other stories featured at the bottom, bands and artists are listed in black and blue to help distinguish them from each other and stand out against the white background the story has.

At the very top we see any extras that are featured in the magazine (in this case there are two giant posters) and a sticker-like object with details on a competition. The text on the posters is in all-caps and streches across most of the width the page to fill up as much space as possible and be easily read. It is in black and green as well to fit with the colour scheme and blend in well with the rest of the page and not be too distracting from the more important parts of the page. The sticker also uses black, with white and yellow text to achieve the same thing.

Next to her is text featuring "Paramore" in large all-caps along with details on what is included in the story. It uses bright yellow, all caps font that has a stencyled aesthetic to seem edgy and stylish. The colour choice and size emphasizes the text and draws the reader's attention.

Below "Paramore" is some small details in a similar font and same colour to keep with the house style but also not draw attention away from the title above it.
