A white outline is also used to make the text easier to read. It also uses a serif font to seem professional but also classic, thus help attract the target audience.

The title effectively and immediately portrays the genre of the magazine which makes it appeal to its target audience, fans of classic rock music

There is a strapline with the text "High Voltage - Rock'N'Roll". It is in a ribbon like gold shape that is stretched over "K" in the logo. The white and gold allow it to stand out without drawing away from more important elements. Another serif  font is used which reinforces the  magazine's classic style.

The main image is of Phil Lynott, lead and bassist of Thin Lizzy, with his signature and recognisable afro. He stands with his arms crossed, a pose that could be seen to be closed off to generate mystery and intrigue. He wear a black and red striped top with a dusty effect on it that depicts another image of him performing, this this gives the image more substance and make more of a statement.
